More than 60 years of history

Currently, SICA produces all kinds of machines from pipe pullers to pipe packaging and it employs around 160 people, feeding an important number of nearby suppliers. It promotes 200 different machine models, has 26 active patents, sells approximately 500 machines per year, exports 95% of its products all over the world and has a turnover of about 30 million euro. The company is fired by a strong drive to deliver value for customers, employees, shareholders, stakeholders and suppliers, while also pursuing honest business practice that is respectful of people and of the environment.

60’s

13 February 1962: Mr. Osvaldo Giacomoni, together with other shareholders, founded Sica to produce aluminum profiles for doors and windows. The founder, who was a surveyor, soon realized that the first company to invent an automatic machine for socketing plastic pipes would make a big splash.

70’s

Belling machines were equipped with hot air ovens. PVC pipe sockets were made mainly by blowing the final portion against external molds. Sockets with gasket seats were obtained by inflating a special rubber ring which was part of the mandrel.

Digital transformation and the concept of Industry 4.0 characterize this period. SICA, thinking along these lines, has transformed its way of providing service to customers by creating a spare parts portal where, in addition to finding all the documentation related to the purchased machines, it is possible to place online orders.
